WithWaves has continued active development on Google Wave bots since the launch of the developer preview. Since then, we’ve launched this site, a few bots, and received feedback for future bot updates. Unfortunately, Google Wave is still in preview mode which means access for the general public is controlled by the ebb and flow of existing users receiving and sharing. We want to help share Wave.
At the moment, we have 10 invites to share with WithWaves readers with more on the way. To enter for your chance to receive an invite, you must do two things:
- Add @withwaves on Twitter.
- Send out a Twitter update to help share the WithWaves Google Wave Development. Somewhere in the Tweet include this link http://j.mp/ey1uZ and hashtag #wwdevs. Invites will go out to the Tweets with the best ideas for a new Google Wave bot idea.
Example Tweet to use:
RT Wave Invites http://j.mp/ey1uZ – @withwaves should create a bot to [YOUR IDEA HERE] – #wwdevs
On November 16th, we will send a direct message to users with the best bot ideas requesting contact info for a invite.

Awesome idea, but… There’s a possible chink in the armor of this plan. While it’s great that you’re encouraging future Wavers, it may be asking an unfair question to request bot ideas from people who haven’t had a hands-on experience with Wave to begin with. So – it’s hard to say what’s missing and generate ideas inspired by real experience with the environment. I bring this up because I’m one of those people. I’ve got ideas, but I don’t know how many are already being used since I don’t have an invite.
Jeremy, Thank you for your response. Our goal is to encourage people that are already aware of the general idea of wave but have been unable to play around with it to express the ideas that have been piling up in their heads. We can tell by the ideas you have already tweeted that you are one of these people that has many good ideas. We hope that many of these ideas will come out early on so some of these bots and gadgets will be developed and available before the public release of wave. There is bound to be some duplication of ideas but that is just fine.

A reliable bot that gets current stock prices.
Don’t know if it can already do this but I would like to use wave as a service update site for my many technicians at my work. We could share files, updates, knowledge base articles and update their service call logs on this one site.
