The Google Wave Team has teamed up with Mashable to highlight a handful of Google Wave extensions with the Google Wave API Contest. Both the AmazonBot & eBayBot face some great competition. Help the WithWaves team attend the Google I/O conference by voting for both extensions!
We’re pretty excited to push another update to our first Google Wave bot – the AmazonBot. The update includes a refreshed UI, Amazon Marketplaces support, and language localization. We’re well aware of the fact that our translations may be off (we’re trying!) and welcome any and all feedback.

We have updated the AmazonBot, AmazonMP3Bot and eBayBot to support contextual text selection. To see this new feature in action you need to have the Robots installed with the extension installer.
Simply edit any message in a wave with text and select the word(s) that you want the robot to analyze. Once the text is selected click the toolbar extension and we will automatically add the robot to the wave and analyze your selection offering matched content based on the selected robot.
The Google Wave AmazonBot just received a tiny update adding support for querying a single Amazon.com department e.g Electronics or Software. Anyone who has spent any time shopping for items on Amazon can agree there is too much good stuff. We realized that as convenient as it is to carry a conversation on Google Wave with the AmazonBot running in the background, the results may be too scattered. A simple query for ‘iPhone’ may return results from Amazon Books, Electronics, or Wireless. Now you can trigger a query for results from a single department both inside of a conversation or from the gadget itself. Continued »
